Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA), is India’s trailblazing badminton coaching academy that was launched way back in October 1994.

The Academy is the brainchild of the stalwarts of Indian Badminton, the Indian badminton legend Shri Prakash Padukone, Dronacharya Award winner and ex-India national coach, Shri Vimal Kumar along with Shri Vivek Kumar.

PPBA is a national Centre of Excellence (NCOE) for badminton coaching, recognized by the Ministry of Sports, Govt of India, Sports Authority of India (SAI), and the Badminton Association of India (BAI)with whom it works closely in grooming players of international repute. During its over 25 years in existence, PPBA is renowned around the country for producing successive generations of world-class badminton players, including several Olympians, Arjuna Award winners, Commonwealth and other international title winners.

PPBA’s Focus on Elite Players
PPBA is focused on providing full-time, residential, long-term coaching to talented elite level players of national and international standards only, on a highly subsidized basis with the goal of helping them achieve podium success for the country in international competitions. This is mainly thanks to our current main Academy partners, M/s. Infosys Foundation and our co-partners, M/s. Sunrise Sports (India) Private Limited as well as M/s. R-Systems International Ltd.
PPBA Location
PPBA is based at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence (PDCSE) in Bengaluru. PDCSE is a world-class integrated sports complex spread over 15 lush acres, located near Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport.

PDCSE offers state-of-the-art facilities with 16 badminton courts, as well as facilities for Cricket, Soccer, Swimming, Squash, Shooting, Tennis and Basketball. The Centre includes support facilities such as the SAI-Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance (ABTP) centre – an advanced sports science centre equipped with latest equipment, the Vesoma Gym and Physio centre, as well as restaurants, and CSE Residences that houses dorm rooms for athletes, apart from suites and service apartment facilities with all amenities for visitors.
